A remarkable first week

I just want to say thank you. The response since we launched our campaign for Indiana Secretary of State last Wednesday has been incredible.

My emails, texts, and voicemails have been flooded with notes from supportive Hoosiers like you. The message has been remarkably consistent: people are grateful that someone is stepping forward to offer a different path.

They understand how important it is to have someone independent overseeing our elections, and their encouragement has meant a great deal to me. If you'd like to help us make it a reality, click here to help me get on the ballot:

On the very first night of the campaign, I spoke with a group of students at Indiana University in Bloomington. The class was called The Call of Public Service, which seemed especially fitting for this moment.

Over the past several months, I have spent quite a bit of time speaking with college students. I value those conversations because they give me a real sense of what the next generation is thinking about the country and its future.

One thing has become very clear: many young Americans have never seen our political system work the way it is supposed to.

I told the students at IU I that while the world has made remarkable progress over the past half century, our country is clearly in a rough stretch right now. The way through it is not complicated, but it does require effort; people have to step into the arena. I encouraged them to get involved in public service, to engage in their communities, and to consider running for office. Our system only works when good people decide to participate.

I have said those words to students many times over the years, but as I said them again recently, I realized something.

I needed to take my own advice.

I can still make a difference. That is why I am running.

Hoosiers deserve leaders with experience and integrity who want to make a real impact.

If we are going to safeguard our elections and open the door for more good people to serve, it will take citizens stepping forward โ€” just like I am asking those students to do.
If you believe in that mission, there are two important ways you can help right now.

You can sign the petition to get my campaign on the ballot, and circulate it among family and friends.

You can also make a contribution to help us build this campaign, which helps us get on the ballot and spread our message to every corner of Indiana:

Thank you again for the encouragement you have shown this past week. It means a great deal to me, and I am excited about what we can accomplish together.

Sincerely,

Greg
